In architecture, Integrated Energy Design (IED) entails considering energy during each design phase, especially in the early stage. The form of a building is an important factor this stage due to its considerable impact on consumption. Finding optimal time-consuming process, and computational techniques can help designers facilitate process achieve solution with acceptable performance terms CO2 emission. Moreover, surrounding buildings, trees urban elements affect daylight project by casting shadows. Considering all these throughout be very demanding take several working days. Today, digital tools make it possible parametrically analyze morphological characteristics buildings identify most efficient solution. present study proposes environmental-simulation based workflow used determine building’s parameters (height, angle,..) given area weather data context. This done parametric environmental simulations Rhino3D®, Grasshopper®, ladybug Tools®. typical Norwegian cabin’s are applied visual coding program (Grasshopper®) generate initial geometry for optimization. Due great effect consumption emission, minimizing energy, maximizing thermal comfort sky view percentage were main objectives. To test Tromsø (Norway) 3d model context location was as inputs. output application alternatives that specific location. showed using thinking apply climatic narrow down solutions.
